Hey everyone,

For those of you that don't know me, I'm John Edwards, the new Operations Manager here at ESPN Sports Radio 1300. With this blog, you'll be able to give us comments on programming, our comments/news on Kentucky sports and sports around the globe, and you'll find links to interviews with guests that appeared on the Sports Huddle. Feel free to comment after we post something! Make sure you stay tuned to all programming on ESPN Sports Radio 1300 and the Sports Huddle weekday afternoons at 4 with Chris Cross and Mike Cameron!

As a test of how much you guys are going to use this, Mike Cameron would like to know your feelings on the UK Basketball Schedule that was released last week.

Hope you all enjoy this blog,
John

Hey, guys! I hope there are some top 25 standouts in the Maui Classic. Memphis, Oklahoma, and UCLA hopefully will foot the bill. UK needs to be pressured early in the season by solid teams, not necessarily top 10 teams, so the players' roles on the floor will be defined earlier. Plus, Coach Smith can determine, hopefully, what it would take to get the team to the level they need to be on. Last year's pre-conference schedule seemed to be a joke to me. Mid-20s ranked Iowa and WVU weren't real tests. Bring on the big boys, Tubby!

Hey Chris, I listen to the Sports Huddle ovah heah!

The interesting thing to remember about the Maui classic is that UK can only enter into it every four years. In Tubby's two other times in the Maui Invitational he has produced quality teams (1998: UK won the National Championship, 2002: UK Ranked #1 in AP Poll). It will be interesting to see if that trend continues this year.
