9 days until opening kickoff for UK...

But there's one problem that still remains.

Who will be taking snaps for the Cats this season?

Is it Curtis Pulley? The 6-4 200lb Sophomore who specializes in making things happen by his feet?

Or, is it Andre Woodson? The 6-5 232lb Junior who prefers to make things happen in the air.

It's simply a question of preference now. Does Brooks prefer an offense centered around the run, or the air? Most of all, it comes down to who can hold onto the ball. Whatever it is, he has to stick by his decision. There can't be flip flopping for quarterback this year (think of what happened to Tennessee last year). The offense needs to be able to rally around its signal caller. Not having a decision at quarterback is hurting the Cats more than it's helping them.

The decision time is flirting dangerously with a possible distraction. The offense needs a full week of working together before the Louisville game and they need to be confident in who is going to be leading them into battle.

I guess we're all going to have to wait and see what that decision is.

But I'd like to know who you think should be taking the snaps on the field for Kentucky.

The flip flop worked pretty well for WVU last season with Bednarik and White. Personally, I would like to see Woodson get the start. In the past he has shown flashes of brilliance, but at the same time, idiocy (not that it was all his fault). Plus, the passing game is always more exciting. Give him the reigns and let him take the offense for a test ride. We will all know if it was the right choice by the end of the first quarter!

I don't see the flip flop approach working well for UK this year for one big reason. This is such an important year for Brooks, why would he want to constantly be confusing the team.

Each quarterback has their own style of cadience. Constant changing of quarterbacks could lead to more offsides penalties, etc. These could potentially be drive killers for the Cats. Say they're on the 30 yard line and Brooks decides to switch quarterbacks and someone jumps offsides. Now you've got to deal with the fact that your out of field goal range, and your momentum was taken away. I know that could happen anyway, but I guess you just try to elminate the possiblity as much as possible.

Yes we do have QB coach Randy Sanders from Tennessee.

I think Woodson came into UK Media Day much more confident than Pulley was. Woodson had the crowd around him and just had that feeling like he was going to be the guy. Pulley just seemed like he was the guy who wanted to help the team.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I believe that Pulley can't ride the bench; he's one of the best athletes on the field. But I think Woodson has been prepping himself for the gig.

Here's what I do know. I grew up 15 minutes north of Boston. I grew up loving the Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, and of course I was born into being a Red Sox fan. Being up there, it's like your told two things growing up: There is a God, and the Red Sox will break your heart but you'll still love them. My best friend growing up was from Kentucky. I have been a Kentucky fan since the 5th grade. Him and I used to lock ourselves in a room and watch anytime the Cats were picked up on ESPN or CBS. When we played basketball on the same team, we used to try and do the same things that the UK Basketball team did at the same time. When I played college football and got hurt, my scholarship was taken away. I transfered to UK.

Even though I'm away from my teams in Boston and am here for my team in Kentucky, I couldn't picture myself rooting for another team.

If I went anywhere else, I couldn't picture myself rooting for other teams.

Chris grew up a Red Sox fan, but worked in the industry for a long time. He got close with teams like the Pirates, White Sox, and Yankees. By becoming friendly with some of the players, he began hoping that they'd do well (as you'd hope that any of your friends would do well). His ties to the Red Sox faded because he wanted them to do well.

As much as it pains me to say, I can kind of see where he's coming from (although I would never let it happen myself).

I mean being down here, I root for the Reds (unless they were playing the Red Sox in the World Series. I just want them to do well. (On a side note, you can rest assured that our studio is decorated in all Reds and Red Sox stuff).

I do know that Chris has been down here for a long time. So I don't see him changing teams. Especially to go to Louisville.

Here's my take.
Why name a Starter until about 8:05pm Next Sunday night? Keep Petrino and the Cards guessing and game planning for BOTH.
The Passing game HAS to get it done down the field this season. If you want Little and the RB corps to gain meaningful yardage this season.
The PASS, and no 'Hal Mumme' dink and dunk 3-5 yard passes with Craig Yeast gaining 50 yards after the catch.
The PASS (downfield) will open up the running game.
By the way, why not have BOTH come out into the first play huddle?
